AMK Trek – Alang Madan Kulang, is a trek which combines ascending and descending of 3 forts in 2 days times. We start  Alang Madan Kulang Trek ie. AMK Trek from Alang Fort which is in Akole Taluka of Ahmednagar District. It is 140 kms and 242 kms away from Mumbai and Pune respectively. The AMK Trek is difficult to say the least. It involves a traverse on the edge of around 1 hour and 3 – 4 climbing and rappelling patches. The endurance required for such AMK trek is very high.

ITINERARY

Friday: AMK Trek -  [Alang Madan Kulang Trek]

Catch the 10.50 pm local train from CSMT to KASARA 

Saturday: 

We are Waiting for you

Meet at Kasara Railway Station at 1:30 am. We will travel in a transfer a vehicle to Udavane which is the base village of Alang of AMK Trek.

Alang Fort, we are coming

Reach Udavane village around 3:30 am. After a fun introduction round, start the  Alang Madan Kulang trek to Alang fort making use of your torch.

Yay, we are here!

Enjoy the morning view of the traverse and the nearby fort, Madan Fort and Kulang Fort. We will reach the top around 7:30 am. We will have breakfast and will explore the fort.

Madan Fort, here we come

We will rappel down Alang Fort around 8:30 am and will start the traverse towards Madan Fort. Most happening part of  Alang Madan Kulang Trek.

Finally, we’ve reached

We will reach Madan Fort at around 3 pm. Enjoy the late lunch cooked by local villagers and rest in the caves. Don’t forget to enjoy the sunset before dozing off. You are required to have all the meals as tomorrow will be a big day.

Sunday - last day of  Alang Madan Kulang Trek

Good Morning Folks

Wake up around 5 am. Freshen up and enjoy the sunrise view from Madan Fort. After an early breakfast, we will rappel down and start the trek to Kulang Fort.

Easy Trek to Kulang Fort

After we rappel down Madan Fort, we will proceed to Kulang Fort. The trek is comparatively easy. The Stone Carved steps take you all the way to Kulang Fort. Enjoy the Lunch and explore the fort.

What an Amazing Experience of  Alang Madan Kulang Trek

After exploring the fort, we head back to Kulangwadi, base village of Kulang and also Alang Madan Kulang Trek. We will reach the base village around 4 pm and travel in our transfer vehicle to Kasara Railway Station. Don’t forget to share your AMK Trek feedback before you bid adieu.

Cancellation and Refund applicable on the AMK Trek cost: 

● If cancellation done prior to 15 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
● If cancellation done prior to 10 days of outing 50% will be refunded.
● After that no refund will be provided.

THINGS TO CARRY

● A good trekking shoe compulsory for AMK Trek
● Bring a plate and spoon to avoid the use of plastic
● A Good torch with extra batteries (Mandatory)
● Identity Proof (Mandatory)
● At least 2 Litres of Water. (Mandatory)
● Full sleeves T-shirt and Full-length pant (Mandatory - To protect from Sun, insects, bushes, etc.)
● Extra Pair of Clothes. (Mandatory - To change after trek (Can be kept in vehicle during trek))
● A haversack to put in all the things to be carried, so that one has one's hands-free while trekking
● Sweater or Shawl   (Optional)
● Some ready to eat food
● Plum cakes, Biscuits, etc. (Optional)
● Cap, Scarf, Sun Glasses, etc. (Optional) Medicine for those if require (Optional)

AMK Trek Rules

● In Mountains & Jungles, smoking attracts honeybees and one has to face dangerous "honeybee attack" where survival of the person is difficult, hence smoking is strictly prohibited.
● Drinking Alcohol is strictly prohibited during Alang Madan Kulabng Trek.
● AMK Trek Leader's Decision will be Final and Binding.

● Please do not carry Handbags or Jholas or Sling bags on treks.

Just loved the way they organised everything for the AMK trek, people say its one of the difficult ones. But, thanks to Small Steps and their team it was fun and exciting at the same time..Great work guys. keep it up
