Rajgad fort is in Bhor Taluka of Pune District. It is 208 kms and 65 kms from Mumbai and Pune respectively. This fort was of significant importance in the era of the Great Maratha Warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He spent most of his life at this fort along with his family at this very fort. You will come across the Samadhi of Sai Bai, First wife of Shivaji Maharaj and mother of Shahaji Maharaj opposite the temple of Padmavati Devi.

Apart from the Historical importance, Rajgad also offers beautiful views of the meadows, nearby Mountain Range and Torna Fort.

Best time to visit Rajgad is from June to January to enjoy the beauty of nature around.

We are Waiting for you

Meet at Swargate Bus Stand at 11:30 pm. We will travel in a Transfer Vehicle to Gunjavne, which is the base village of Rajgad Fort.

Day 1

Rajgad Fort, here we come

We will reach Gunjavne Village around 2 am. After a brief Introduction and instructions round, we will begin the trek to Rajgad Fort.

Yay, we are here

After around 3 hours of trekking, we will reach Rajgad Fort. We will rest for a while in the Padmavati Temple.

Food First

By 6:30, we will fill our stomach with the delicious breakfast and head to Balekilla to enjoy the sunrise and the surrounding view. Do not forget to take ample photos and safe selfies.

Lovely Rural Lunch

Post exploration of the Fort, we will descend back to Gunjavne village around 10 am. It will take around 2 hours to reach the base village. After reaching the base village, enjoy the lovely lunch cooked by the local villagers.

Wow, what an Amazing Experience

Post Lunch, we will start our return journey to Pune in the Transfer Vehicle around 1:30 pm. Please share your experience and feedback of the trek on our way back.
