Trek to Bhimashankar Temple

Bhimashankar Temple is located in Ambegaon Taluka of Pune District. Bhimashankar Trek is 213 km and 110 km away from Mumbai and Pune respectively. Bhimashankar Temple is famously known for the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva.

There are two routes of Bhimashankar Trek, one is via Shidi Ghat (Ladder Route) and the other is via Ganesh Ghat (Ganesh Temple). Shidi Ghat is considered a bit risky but is a quick way to reach Bhimashankar Temple. The name Shidi Ghat is referred to this route because there are around 3 - 4 ladders where you gain height. There is also one risky patch around caves where participants need to be careful. The scenic beauty of the vivid shades of green, nearby waterfalls and Padargad also freshens you up in after a decent hike.

For Trekkers and Photographers, it is a paradise during Monsoon till March. Thus, the best time to trek Bhimashankar Temple is during Monsoon and Early Winter Season.
