Trek to Thanale Caves

Thanale Caves is in Sudhagad Taluka of Raigad District. It is 176 kms and 100 kms away from Mumbai and Pune respectively. The base village is Thanale. Thanale caves are ancient rock-cut structures placed in scenic surroundings making a paradise for photographers. There are in all 28 caves which are cut in a row. However, only 10 – 15 caves are accessible. The caves have beautiful stone carvings on doors and ceilings and 13 stupas making one wonder about the artistic talent of the bygone era.

We are Waiting for you

Meet at Dadar Railway Station (E) near Pritam hotel at 6 am. We will head to Thanale village in the Transfer Vehicle.

Food First

Before reaching the base village, we will enjoy the breakfast on the way around 8 am.

Thanale Caves, here we come

We will reach base village, Thanale around 9:30 am. After a fun introduction round, we will start the trek to Thanale caves. The trek is through dense Jungle and one must cross few water streams to reach the caves.

Yay, we are here

We will reach Thanale Caves around 12 noon. Relax refresh and explore the caves and the view of the Jungle beneath. Don’t forget to take ample group photos and safe selfies. We will enjoy the lunch sharing our tiffin with our fellow trekkers. We will start the descend around 1:30 pm.

What an Amazing Experience!

We will reach Thanale Village around 3:30 pm. Please share your experience and feedback of the event while enjoying the evening snacks and hot tea. We will leave for Mumbai around 4:30 pm.

● In Mountains & Jungles, smoking attracts honeybees and one has to face dangerous "honeybee attack" where survival of the person is difficult, hence smoking is strictly prohibited.
● Drinking Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
● Leader's Decision will be Final and Binding.
