Tung Fort Details

Tung Fort or Kathingad is located near Lonavala falling under Maval Taluka, Pune. This oval shape fort is famous among tourists as it is easy to climb and provides a picturesque view from the top. During the Tung fort Trek, you come across many temples. The Stone Carved Door is the main attraction of Tung fort. The top of the fort also has 3 – 4 water cisterns and temple of Tung Devi. The sight from top is mesmerizing as you see Pawana Lake, Lohgad, Visapur, Tikona, and Korigad forts prominently.

Because of the shape and the location, Tung fort was used as a Watch Tower providing enough support to nearby forts of Lohgad and Visapur. Along with nearby forts, this fort was exchanged many times between the Mughals and The Marathas.

Tung Trek Itinerary:

We are Waiting for you

Meet at Lonavala Railway Station by 8:15 am as we will head to Tungwadi Village by transfer vehicle, base village of Tung Fort.

Food First

We will reach Tungwadi at around 9:15 am. Before we begin the Tung trek, let us fill our stomach with the local breakfast and hot tea.

Tung Fort, we are Coming!

We'll begin our Tung Fort Trek by 10 am enjoying the company of our fellow trekkers.

Wow, we are here!

Reach top around 12 pm. Explore the Temples, Water Cisterns and Enjoy the view of the valley. We will start descend around 12:30 pm.

Lovely Rural Lunch

Reach Tungwadi around 2 pm. Enjoy the delicious lunch made by the villagers as we rejuvenate our body and mind.

What an Experience - Tung Trek!

We will head back to Lonavala after lunch in our transfer vehicle by 3 pm as we share our experience of the Tung trek with our fellow trekkers.

Cancellation and Refund applicable on the Tung Trek tour cost: 

● If cancellation done prior to 15 days of outing 75% will be refunded.
● If cancellation done prior to 10 days of outing 50% will be refunded
● After that no refund will be provided.
